e-Turista is a planned nationwide registry of accommodation establishments, prepared by the Ministry for Regional Development of the Czech Republic. It’s meant to replace today’s fragmented reporting — separate processes for UbyPort, the house book, and the accommodation fee — with a single system. As of mid-2026, the underlying amendment has not yet been definitively passed by the Chamber of Deputies.
What would change
Under the current proposal, accommodation providers would:
- register the establishment (not just individual guests) in a central registry linked to the relevant municipality,
- enter guest data once, instead of separately for UbyPort, the house book, and the accommodation fee,
- have that data automatically forwarded to the foreign police, the tax authority, and the municipality.
The underlying legal duty to report guests isn’t going away — e-Turista changes how that duty is fulfilled, not whether it applies.
Current status (mid-2026)
The project originally aimed to launch in 2025; the timeline slipped, and the current proposal works with a split effective date roughly from mid-2026 to early 2027. The exact date mandatory registration would apply to the broader base of accommodation providers is not yet confirmed. If you’ve seen a specific launch date elsewhere, treat it as provisional until the law actually passes and the technical reporting format is published.
What to do now
Nothing changes yet. Accommodation providers must keep meeting today’s requirements exactly as they stand — see the Foreigners’ Residence Act and the Local Fees Act. Waiting for e-Turista before getting compliant isn’t a safe bet, since the launch date isn’t fixed yet.
