e-Turista: What It Is and What Changes for Czech Hosts

What e-Turista is

e-Turista is a nationwide accommodation registry being developed by the Czech Ministry of Regional Development (Ministerstvo pro místní rozvoj). The idea is to replace today’s fragmented reporting — separate processes for UbyPort, House Book records, and local accommodation tax — with a single system. An accommodation provider would enter guest data once, and e-Turista would automatically forward the relevant parts to the tax office, the Foreign Police, and the municipality.

Where the legislation actually stands

This is the part that matters most for planning purposes: as of mid-2026, the amendment to the Tourism Act that would introduce e-Turista has not been definitively passed by the Chamber of Deputies. The project was originally targeted to launch in 2025; that slipped, and the current proposal works with phased effective dates spread across mid-2026 through early 2027. The exact date mandatory registration would begin for the broader population of accommodation providers is still unconfirmed.

If you’ve seen a specific “go-live” date quoted elsewhere, treat it as provisional until the law is actually adopted and the technical reporting format is published.

What’s expected to change once it’s in force

Based on the current proposal, accommodation providers would:

• Register the property (not just report individual guests) in a central registry connected to the relevant municipality.
• Enter guest data once, rather than separately for UbyPort, House Book records, and accommodation tax.
• Have that data routed automatically to the Foreign Police, tax authorities, and the municipality, reducing duplicate recordkeeping.

The underlying legal obligation to report guests isn’t going away — e-Turista is a change in how that obligation is fulfilled, not a removal of it.

What to do right now

Nothing changes today. Accommodation providers still need to meet their current obligations exactly as they stand: UbyPort reporting for foreign guests within the legal deadline, House Book and Registration Book recordkeeping, and accommodation tax collection and remittance to the municipality. Waiting for e-Turista before getting current compliance in order isn’t a safe bet, since the rollout date isn’t fixed.
