Best Guest connects directly to TTLock’s own cloud platform — the same locks and account you already manage in the TTLock app, no separate hardware or second login for your guests.
Estimated setup time: 5 minutes, plus a minute per lock to assign it to a listing.
Before you start
- A TTLock account with your locks already registered in the TTLock app
- Your TTLock username and password
- A Best Guest account with owner or manager access
Connect and sync
- In Best Guest, go to Settings → Smart Locks.
- Under TTLock, enter your TTLock username and password, then click Connect TTLock account. Your password is protected before it leaves your browser — Best Guest never sees or stores it.
- Click Sync locks to pull in every lock registered on your TTLock account, along with its battery level and whether it has a gateway connected.
- For each lock, assign it to the listing it belongs to using the dropdown next to it.
That’s it — from here, Best Guest issues a door PIN automatically for every reservation on an assigned listing, ahead of arrival, and delivers it with the rest of your check-in instructions.
How the code works
- With a gateway, Best Guest sends the code to the lock in advance, and can cancel it remotely the moment a reservation is cancelled.
- Without a gateway, the lock still gets a real, working code — it just can’t be cancelled early; a cancelled reservation’s code simply stays active until it naturally expires. Its window is rounded out to the nearest hour so the guest’s actual stay is never cut short.
- Either way, the code is valid from the start of the guest’s arrival day to the end of their departure day, in your property’s own local time — an early arrival never finds the door locked.
Troubleshooting
Account shows “Authentication failed” — your TTLock password likely changed, or the connection expired. Reconnect it from the same Connect TTLock account form; any reservations that missed a code while disconnected pick one up automatically afterward.
A lock doesn’t appear after connecting — click Sync locks again; new locks added on the TTLock side don’t appear in Best Guest until the next sync.
A guest reports the code doesn’t work — check whether the lock has a gateway connected. A gateway that’s briefly offline can delay a remote-pushed code; the reservation’s detail page in Best Guest shows the code’s current status and lets you regenerate it.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a TTLock gateway?
No, but it changes how revoking works. With a gateway (Wi-Fi bridge) connected, Best Guest can push and remotely cancel a code instantly. Without one, the lock still gets a real, working code — it's generated using TTLock's offline algorithm instead — but it can't be cancelled remotely; it simply stops working once its validity window ends.
What happens if I change my TTLock password?
Best Guest's connection to your account will stop working and the account is marked Authentication failed in Settings → Smart Locks. Reconnect with your new password and everything resumes — reservations that missed a code while disconnected are retried automatically once you're back.
Does a low battery affect the codes already issued?
No. A code that's already active on the lock keeps working regardless of battery level — TTLock's battery reporting is informational, refreshed each time you sync, so you can replace batteries before a lock actually stops responding.
