What UbyPort is
UbyPort is the system the Czech Foreign Police (Cizinecká policie) provide for accommodation providers — hotels, guesthouses, apartments, and short-term rentals — to fulfill their legal duty to report foreign guests. Every accommodation provider that hosts non-Czech guests must be registered in UbyPort and submit a report for each foreign guest, typically within 3 working days of the start of their stay.
What information is reported
A UbyPort report includes the guest’s full name, date of birth, nationality, travel document number, and the dates of their stay. The exact required fields and submission format are set by the Foreign Police and can change, which is why systems that report to UbyPort need to stay current with the official schema.
Why it matters
Failing to report a foreign guest, or reporting incomplete or incorrect data, is a legal violation that can result in a fine of up to 50,000 CZK per violation. Because the obligation applies per guest and the deadline is short, providers hosting even a moderate volume of foreign guests benefit from automating the check-in-to-UbyPort pipeline rather than filing each report by hand.
