What the Foreign Police unit does
The Cizinecká policie is a specialized unit of the Czech Police responsible for matters relating to foreign nationals, including receiving guest-registration reports submitted by accommodation providers through UbyPort. It’s the authority that both operates the UbyPort system and enforces the underlying legal reporting obligation.
Its role in compliance and enforcement
Beyond receiving reports, the Foreign Police can inspect accommodation providers’ records — including the House Book and Registration Book — and issue fines for missed or incorrect guest reports. This is the enforcement side of the guest-registration obligation described under hlášení cizinců.
Where to find official guidance
Because requirements and the UbyPort system itself can be updated, the Foreign Police’s own published guidance is the authoritative source for current reporting requirements, rather than relying solely on third-party summaries.
