What e-Turista is

e-Turista is a nationwide accommodation registry being developed by the Czech Ministry of Regional Development (Ministerstvo pro místní rozvoj). The goal is to unify how accommodation providers report guests: instead of separate processes for UbyPort, the House Book, and local accommodation tax, providers would enter guest data once into e-Turista, which would then pass the relevant information to the Foreign Police, the municipal authority, and the Czech Statistical Office.

Current status — not yet in force

This is important: no law introducing e-Turista exists yet. The original government bill from the previous electoral term (Chamber print 761) passed its second reading but never reached a third reading before the 2025 election, and it lapsed when that Chamber’s term ended. As of 15 October 2026 there are two new bills:

• The MMR government bill (amendment to the Tourism Act): the ministry sent it into inter-ministerial comments on 14 September 2026, and the comment period closed on 13 October 2026. The cabinet has not approved it and it has not been sent to the Chamber. It proposes effect from 1 January 2028 and would also let municipalities restrict short-term rentals in flats.
• The opposition MPs’ bill (Chamber print 106): based on the lapsed government bill. The cabinet issued a dissenting opinion on it in March 2026. It is on the agenda of the Chamber session that opened on 13 October 2026, but it has not had its first reading yet.

So 1 January 2028 is only a proposed date, not one set by law. Treat any specific “go-live” date you see elsewhere with caution until the law is actually passed.

What it means for accommodation providers today

Until e-Turista is law and its technical reporting format is published, accommodation providers still need to meet their current obligations: UbyPort reporting for foreign guests, House Book and Registration Book recordkeeping, and accommodation tax collection and remittance.
