What a PMS handles
A property management system is the operational hub for a hospitality business: reservations, pricing and availability, guest communication, housekeeping and task management, and often channel distribution and financial reporting, all in one platform. Well-known examples in the short-term rental and hotel space include Guesty, Cloudbeds, Mews, Beds24, Hostaway, and Lodgify.
What a PMS typically doesn’t handle well
Guest-registration compliance — UbyPort reporting, the House Book and Registration Book, and per-municipality accommodation tax rules — usually isn’t a PMS’s core focus. Some offer basic guest-detail fields, but because these platforms serve many countries, they’re rarely maintained against the specific, frequently updated requirements of Czech law.
How Best Guest fits alongside a PMS
Best Guest isn’t a PMS and doesn’t try to replace one. It connects to whichever PMS or channel manager you already use — via iCal or a direct integration — reads confirmed reservations, and handles guest registration and Czech compliance on top, without requiring you to migrate or duplicate data entry.
