Little Hotelier offers customisable, scheduled pre- and post-stay guest emails — perfect for delivering your registration link. Best Guest connects in two ways:
- Automated messages — Little Hotelier scheduled guest emails deliver your registration link.
- iCal sync — Little Hotelier lists iCal as sharing availability only, with reservation details not recorded.
Estimated setup time: 5–10 minutes.
Before you start
- An active Little Hotelier account
- A Best Guest account
- Your Best Guest registration link, e.g.
https://bestguest.app/l/your-listing?channel=littlehotelier
(Use your real link. ?channel=littlehotelier records the reservation origin.)
Using the right link: every listing — each apartment, room, tent, RV, or whatever counts as your smallest bookable unit — has its own unique registration link. If you manage more than one listing, double-check you’re copying the correct one. Find all your links in Best Guest under Properties → [property] → Listings → Copy listing link, or grab them during the Listings step of onboarding.
Path 1 — Scheduled guest email
- In Little Hotelier, go to Guest Engagement → Communication → Scheduled messages and select Pre-stay → Create new.
- Choose a message type (e.g. Check-in) and set up its Email design (and optionally SMS).
- Under Sending rules, use the days-before-arrival slider (0–30) to set the timing — e.g. 2 days before check-in. Segmentation is aimed at targeted offers (e.g. guests staying more than two nights). SiteMinder’s documentation for the same scheduled-message feature lists a direct-vs-OTA criterion, but Little Hotelier’s own documentation for it is unconfirmed, so one message covering all guests is the simplest approach.
- Add your registration message and insert Little Hotelier’s guest-name placeholder.
Dear (guest name),
Before arrival, please complete your quick online check-in:
https://bestguest.app/l/your-listing
It takes under 2 minutes. We look forward to welcoming you.
Note: pre-arrival emails may not fire for bookings made after the scheduled window, so keep an eye on last-minute reservations.
Recommended: a reminder one day after arrival
Best Guest automatically reminds the main guest if they started registration but haven’t finished it. If a guest never opens the form at all, though, that reminder can’t reach them — so it’s worth scheduling a second pre-arrival email, timed 1 day after arrival instead of before it, using only the link:
Hello (guest name),
Everything alright? Did you fill out all your forms and is the data correct?
Please follow this link if you still need to add/change some information:

Path 2 — iCal sync
Little Hotelier’s Channel Manager keeps a single, centralized calendar in-app that stays synced with every connected channel in real time, rather than publishing a separate iCal feed — and Little Hotelier’s public help center doesn’t document a dedicated calendar-export option. Little Hotelier’s own iCal-vs-channel-manager comparison also lists iCal as sharing availability only, with reservation details “not recorded”, so an iCal link would not import your reservations or feed Reservation Verification. If you still want to connect one, check your Channel Manager settings for an iCal or external-sharing option, or confirm with Little Hotelier support. Registration itself is handled by the scheduled emails in Path 1.
Recommended timeline
- Reservation confirmed → confirmation only
- 2 days before arrival → registration link
- Arrival day → access instructions
- 1 day after arrival → reminder for guests who haven’t completed registration
- Departure → thank-you
Troubleshooting
Email didn’t send — confirm the pre-arrival email is enabled, the timing, and that the booking was made before the scheduled window.
Reservation missing in Best Guest — verify the URL and ?channel=littlehotelier.
