Automatically collect guest registration for Trip.com bookings. Best Guest connects in two ways:

  • Automated messages — Trip.com partner messaging (often surfaced through a connected PMS inbox) delivers your registration link.
  • iCal sync — Best Guest imports your Trip.com reservations from the property calendar.

Before you start

  • Trip.com partner access with an active property
  • A Best Guest account
  • Your Best Guest registration link, e.g.

(Use your real link. ?channel=trip records the reservation origin.)

Using the right link: every listing — each apartment, room, tent, RV, or whatever counts as your smallest bookable unit — has its own unique registration link. If you manage more than one listing, double-check you’re copying the correct one. Find all your links in Best Guest under Properties → [property] → Listings → Copy listing link, or grab them during the Listings step of onboarding.

Path 1 — Automated message

Trip.com guest messaging often works best when communication stays inside the reservation flow. Many hosts manage Trip.com through a channel manager, where the unified inbox and message templates live.

  1. Open your Trip.com partner portal or connected PMS.
  2. Go to Reservations → Guest communication → Templates (or the unified inbox if you use a channel manager).
  3. Create a template named “Best Guest Registration”.
  4. Set the trigger to 2 days before check-in (1 day for short stays; immediately for same-day bookings).
  5. Add your registration message with a clear single action.

Recommended message:

Hello (guest name),

Before arrival, please complete your online guest registration:
https://app.bestguestapp.com/l/your-listing

It usually takes under 2 minutes. We look forward to welcoming you.

Best Guest automatically reminds the main guest if they started registration but haven’t finished it. If a guest never opens the form at all, though, that reminder can’t reach them — so it’s worth scheduling a second automated message, timed 1 day after arrival instead of before it, using only the link:

Path 2 — iCal sync

To import Trip.com reservations into Best Guest’s Reservation Verification, copy the calendar export (.ics) link for the property — from your Trip.com partner tools or, more commonly, from the channel manager Trip.com is connected through — and paste it into Best Guest.

  • Reservation confirmed → confirmation only
  • 2 days before arrival → registration link
  • Arrival day → check-in instructions
  • 1 day after arrival → reminder for guests who haven’t completed registration
  • Departure day → thank-you

Troubleshooting

Guest didn’t receive registration — check messaging is enabled, the trigger timing, and the PMS inbox connection.

Reservation missing in Best Guest — verify the URL and ?channel=trip.
